A West Florida man has been arrested, accused of growing marijuana on his pool patio.

Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputies said they busted David Krause, 60, at his Naples home Wednesday.

The deputies were responding to a tip that pot was being grown at the home. When they arrived, they immediately smelled marijuana coming from the garage. One of the garage doors was wide open, and detectives could see two marijuana buds drying in plain view, police said.

Detectives then said Krause’s wife gave them permission to search the home. Krause arrived home while detectives were there.

Detectives said they then found four marijuana plants growing in pots by the pool. The plants have an estimated street value of $12,000.

Krause is charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of marijuana over 20 grams, both felonies. He was also charged with possession of narcotic paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.
